The Company was keen on maintaining the prime quality for all its products and has never compromised in its taste, texture, or aroma. This agenda lead to the introduction of an indigenous lab of its own which was the only such lab in Asia which is now being upgraded to international quality standards.
In the year 1995, Mr NAVAS MEERAN was introduced into the business chain which led to the steady expansion of company ventures outside Kerala and also to the setting up of a new factory at Theni, Tamilnadu. One more milestone which added brilliant plumes to this year was that the Company effectively set up its commodity office which is currently arriving at very nearly 15 countries from one side of the all around the globe. The service and business that Meeran group rendered both in the national and global market made them the undisputed 17 time beneficiary of the title The Largest Exporter of Spice Masala in Consumer Packs from Spices Board of India.
Extending the triumphant journey to another level, the Meeran group launched SUNIDRA Mattresses considered as the flagship venture of the group which successfully started production in the year 1999. While considering the increasing demands of customers nationwide, a new production unit was also set up in the next year at Adimali. The group also launched its new venture named Eastern Aqua minerals in 2000 intending to give safe and unadulterated drinking water to the general population in the most ideal quality.
The new millennium was indeed a milestone year for the group where they launched Eastern Public school aiming to provide quality education to the children living in the remotest places of Eastern Kerala. The CBSE affiliated school was later affiliated to Newton Public School, Delhi, and got renamed Eastern Newton School. After education, the next step was focused mainly on sustainable development which came out as the first windmill project of Eastern which got rooted in the soils of Nagercoil. A couple of years later, the company made its footsteps into the Indian granary arena where a range of rice products was launched with its packing factory based in Adimali. In 2005, Eastern also installed a cold storage unit at Theni, Tamil Nadu, where we intended to boost the production of ‘Ready to Cook’ food items. Prioritizing customer satisfaction and safety being the prime focus of the group, Eastern launched a fully automated NABL certified hi-tech lab in the same year at Adimali for testing spice quality where we could ensure the safety and quality of the products using international technologies.
In 2007, adding a bit more flavor to the Eastern family, the group took over Mohanlal taste buds and expanded the spice family. While all the developments happening inside, our acceptance and demand for products were growing worldwide which led to the establishment of the EASTERN RAK production unit at RAS Al KHAIMAH, DUBAI through which we could easily cater to the needs of our Middle East customers.
The remarkable milestones in 2010 initiated with the group’s strategic tie-up with the World’s largest spice company, McCormick. Later in the year, EASTERN opened its corporate office at Kochin where all the flagships of the group were incorporated.
The growth and legacy of the group continue. An 18-time winner of The topmost exporter of Curry powder/spice mix from Spices board, Awarded by The Federation of Indian Exports Organization as the Top Two-star exporters in the Southern region (GOLD) award and many more, the group is continuing its journey to conquer more heights by being the best in the industry till the time of its introduction into the market.
